2024 Inductee
Dr. Steven Jung earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in ceramic engineering, and a Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from Missouri S&T in 2005, 2007, and 2010, respectively. As a student-athlete, Jung played a pivotal role on the swimming team during the historic 2001-02 season, contributing to the team’s second-place finish at the Central States Invitational and a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championship. The remarkable achievements of the 2001-02 swimming team earned them induction into the Miner Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. Since completing his doctorate, Jung has built a distinguished career, securing over 100 U.S. and international patents for inventions in biomaterials and tissue engineering in which 13 medical devices utilize these technologies. He is a member of the National Academy of Inventors and a Fellow of the American Ceramics Society.
