About John W. Gibson

John attended UMR from 1972 to 1974, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering management and was a letterman in basketball. He currently is chairman, president and CEO of ONEOK, Inc. and ONEOK Partners, headquartered in Tulsa, Okla.  ONEOK is a diversified energy company which includes three natural gas utilities serving over two million customers in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas; a natural gas marketing company serving customers across the United States and a 42.8% ownership and general partner of ONEOK Partners, a master limited partnership engaged in the midstream natural gas and natural gas liquids businesses located across twelve states.  He began his career in the energy business in 1974 with Exxon, and after positions at Phillips Petroleum and Koch Industries, joined ONEOK in 2000.   John is active in many civic and professional organizations in the Tulsa area, including serving on the boards of the Association of Texas Intrastate Natural Gas Pipelines and the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America.   He is a member of OGS and an Honorary Coach/Booster of Miner Athletics since 2005.  He is being honored on Saturday night of homecoming and will receive an alumni achievement award from the Miner Alumni Association.  John is married to Kristie Capps Gibson, a 1974 graduate of UMR, and they have a daughter, Katie, 26.  They live in Tulsa, Okla.   John is serving on the AMA nominating committee.
