2020 Inductee
Janet (Borgmeyer) Conner, who earned a bachelor of science degree in applied mathematics in 2004, competed on the track and field and softball teams. In 2012, Janet also earned an MBA from the University of Kansas.
During her time on the Miner softball team, Janet set and still holds several records for hitting, including hits in a career (225) and runs in a season (50), leading the winningest team in Miner history (41 – 14, 2004). Janet was inducted into the athletics hall of fame (HOF) in 2014 and is a member of the HOF 2004 softball team, inducted also in 2016.
Janet has worked for Cerner Corp. in Kansas City, Missouri, since 2007. As part of the CommunityWorks division, she works with small rural, community and specialty hospitals in the U.S. After years of leading electronic health record implementations, she currently serves as the director of consulting operations, where she leads strategic planning, financial planning and the project management office.
Janet is active with the Mid-America chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, winning the title of KC Woman of the Year in 2015 and serving on the board of trustees from 2017 to 2020. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Aaron, and stepson, Skyler.
