About Gary Roebke

Gary Roebke earned a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Missouri S&T in 1977. A member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Order of the Golden Shillelagh, Roebke was a four-year football letterman for the Miners.  Roebke started his 39-year career at Chevron in Algiers, Louisiana, as a drill site manager. Before retiring in 2016 as operations manager, Roebke held various roles, including drilling training instructor, drilling engineer, project manager, and superintendent. Over the course of his career Roebke had the privilege of living and working internationally in nine countries, where he acquired extensive experience and showcased his expertise and dedication to the industry.  Roebke actively contributes as AADE New Orleans Chapter Director Emeritus, he co-chairs the drilling technology session for the Deepwater Technical Symposium and participates in St. Tammany Project Christmas. He is a 35-year volunteer of the Zurich Classic and is the current president of the Greater New Orleans Chapter of the Chevron Retirees Association.
