2019 Inductee
Brian Tepper is a 1980 graduate of the university who earned his Bachelor’s degree in geological engineering. He also played football for the Miners as an offensive lineman, where he was a four-year starter at guard and was a two-time all-conference selection in the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association, including earning first-team All-MIAA honors as a senior following the 1979 season. He was a starter for the Miners’ 1977 MIAA championship team.
While at the university, Brian was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
Following graduation, Brian worked for Shell International Energy & Petroleum in Houston, Texas. He worked in various positions for the company from 1980 until he retired in 2017.
Brian and his wife, Catherine, a 1980 graduate of UMR, live in Lee’s Summit, Mo. He recently obtained his private pilot’s license.
