Tom Reed
About Tom Reed

Tom Reed earned a bachelor of science degree in geological engineering in 1987. He played football as a fullback in the 1985 and 1986 seasons and was honored in 1986 with CoSIDA’s Academic All-American Award (First Team football running back). After graduation, Reed had a 28-year career as a petroleum geologist working for Shell Oil and Apache Corp. Throughout those years, he had the privilege of living and working in different locations around the world with overseas assignments that included Cameroon, Oman, Russia, and Egypt. These assignments allowed him to travel the world, immerse himself in different cultures and gain a tremendous appreciation for them.

In 2016, Reed decided to reduce his workload and semi-retired to Cody, Wyoming where he worked part-time as a consulting petroleum geologist. In 2021, he moved back to his birthplace in Kansas to spend more time with his parents.
