About Melissa Talley

Melissa received her bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering in 1993 from S&T, then UMR.  She is a licensed professional engineer in Michigan and Texas.  At UMR, Melissa was a two-sport athlete where she excelled in both softball and track and field, earning most valuable player honors in track and all-conference honors in softball.  In her professional career, she was a project engineer and construction manager for Tetra Tech MPS (formerly McNamee, Porter and Seeley) until 2001, when she and her family relocated to Houston and decided to devote her time raising her three daughters with her spouse Brian Talley, also an alumnus.  Melissa and Brian are members of the Order of the Golden Shillelagh and were founders of the Talley Family endowed scholarship at S&T.  Melissa enjoys travel, gardening, outdoor activities with her family and coaching her children’s athletic teams.
