About Joe Stemler

Joe graduated from UMR in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree with honors in aerospace engineering.  While at UMR, he ran four seasons and earned varsity letters for cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track.  He also participated in the cooperative education program with three industrial periods at McDonnell Douglas.  Joe now has over 20 years of service with the Boeing Company as an aerospace engineer working in the field of aerodynamics.  In 2004, he gave a presentation to the UMR student section of AIAA on hypersonics and the X-43A program.  Joe currently lives with his wife, Tracy, and three sons, Zachary, Zane, and Gabriel, in St. Louis.  He has spends time supporting his sons’ Boy Scouts of America troop and his church. He still enjoys running five to ten miles a week.
