About Gregory D. McClain

Greg graduated from UMR in 1972 with a bachelor’s degrees in engineering management and mechanical engineering. He also received his MBA in management from the University of Dayton in 1976 and received a professional degree from UMR in 1993 in engineering management. Greg was a three-year football letterman as an offensive and defensive guard and played on the 1969 football team which was inducted in the Miner Athletic Hall of Fame. Greg has served in the private sector as manager of business process excellence, quality services, program manager of quality engineering and production engineer and engine engineering.  He is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and is active in many organizations and boards. Greg is a charter member of the S&T Academy of Engineering Management, recipient of an Alumni Association Alumni Service Award and member of the Order of the Golden Shillelagh. He also established the Gregory D. McClain Scholarship for Academic Excellence and is an active participant in the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on African-American Recruitment and Retention. Greg lives in Waterloo, Iowa.
