About Coach Dewey Allgood

Dewey needs no introduction to any of us.  He is a 40-year member of the Miner athletic department as a head coach.   He led the Miner football, basketball, golf, track and cross country programs during his tenure.  He was honored by the MIAA as its “Coach of the Year” in both football and track and received the “Outstanding Contribution Award” from the Cross Country Coaches Association.  In addition, he served as the assistant director of athletics, director of intramurals, department chair for physical education and faculty advisor to the M-Club, while organizing the athletic booster club at the university.  Dewey was inducted into the Miner Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996.
